What’s the gender gap in science?

Been overwhelmed lately, what with the series of Friday seminars and working on the graduating thesis on top of classes, assignments and extra-curriculars. Hence, I have not been able to update the blog for some time now.

I came across this essay on the New York Times examining the gender gap in science. You may observe that some of the views echo Sheryl Sandberg’s point about encouragement, and the data clearly mirrors her anecdote on how sometimes subconciously, women also view other women less favourably vis-a-vis an equally qualified men. Good thing to keep in mind, and to reflect in our daily interactions.
